Travel 2012

2012 is a very special year for our family because we welcomed Norah to the family! I was a little nervous about taking our summer vacation to the Outer Banks with a 2 1/2 month old but she did great! This year Gabe took his friend Sterling along, and the boys pretty much camped out in their bedroom with their XBOX and iPads when the weather got crappy. (And even when it didn't).

The wind was fierce this day! The red flags were up, and nobody was allowed in the surf because of the dangerous conditions. We took this picture between 2 sand dunes, that acted as a bit of a barrier protecting them from the blowing sand.

Gabe is just trying to get away from all the sand beating him up!

It looks like Brady is exploring, when in fact he is getting the heck outta there!

This is in Ocracoke, about a 20 minute ferry ride from Hatteras Island. The boys wanted to do a ghost tour, and lucky for us, my mom and Aunt Cathy knew all the places to show them that were supposedly haunted.

One of my favorite moments of the trip. Brady found an antique knife at a souvenir shop that he desperately wanted, and as luck would have it, he "found" the exact same knife while exploring in the cemetary. He was soooo excited!

Here is the crew outside of the Aquarium. From left to right Gabe, my cousin Jay, Brady, Norah, and Sterling.

So cool, the kids got to touch the stingrays.

This tank was full of star fish, and blowfish, and sea horses etc.. Brady's favorite part of the aquarium.

Norah wanted in on the excitement too

Gabe loved the shark tank

Another successful week at the OBX. We haven't decided if we'll go back next year. We are leaning towards a cruise instead. But we'll be back!
